About the Position
The Chairman & Dean will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and oversight to the Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the institute’s mission and goals.
- Oversee academic programs, including curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and student admissions.
- Promote research and innovation among faculty and students.
- Foster a culture of excellence in patient care and service.
- Strengthen the institute’s partnerships with government agencies, healthcare providers, and international organizations.
- Represent the institute at local, national, and international forums.
Qualifications and Experience
- MBBS or equivalent qualification with a higher postgraduate qualification (Ph.D in Basic Sciences or FCPS, MRCP, FRCS, or American Board in Clinical Sciences).
- Proven track record as a Professor of Scientific and Medical repute in a Medical Institute.
- Master’s Degree or Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Public Health, Health Services Administration, or Medical Sciences preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in hospital administration and management, preferably as head of a Medical Institution.
- Minimum 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals, with at least 3 in international journals.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build and manage a high-performing team.
- Commitment to excellence in medical education and patient care.
Tenure and Remuneration
The selected candidate will be appointed on a contract basis for a tenure of three years, extendable for further periods not exceeding three years at a time. The position carries a BPS-22 salary with fringe benefits as admissible to BS-22 Civil Servants.
