About CISS AJK

Established in 2010, CISS AJK is an independent and autonomous think tank working under the patronage of the National Command Authority (NCA), Pakistan’s highest civilian body for strategic affairs. Their research focuses on issues related to comprehensive security, including nuclear politics, traditional and non-traditional security threats, and regional dynamics.

CISS AJK is currently seeking applications for the following positions:

• Director Research
• Associate Director Research

Who We’re Looking For

Director Research

• PhD from a HEC-recognized university in a relevant field like Defence and Strategic Studies, Strategic and Nuclear Studies, Defence and Diplomatic Studies, International Relations, International Security, or Peace and Conflict Studies.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior research position at a well-respected institution.
• Proven experience (5 years minimum) in:
  • Supervising research studies and projects.
  • Conducting national and international seminars and conferences.
  • Supervising and managing academic publications.
• Strong digital literacy skills.
• A track record of publications (10 or more) in HEC-recognized national or international journals.

Associate Director Research

• M.Phil from a HEC-recognized university in a relevant field (same as Director Research).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in research, preferably in a senior position.
• Proven experience (5 years minimum) in:
  • Supervising or directing research or undertaking research work.
• A minimum of 5 research articles published in HEC-recognized national or international journals.
• Experience (2 years minimum) in supervising and managing academic publications.
• Strong digital literacy skills.

• The positions are for a two-year contract with a possibility of extension based on merit.
